Bonnie Blader(You Want
Fries with That?) is a writer and former teacher. She has
interviewed New Jersey farmers for the Rutgers Food Innovation Center, as a
research associate, and for the West Windsor Community Farmers Market where she
volunteers. Each interview deepens her regard for local agriculture and the
farmers who chance a farming life
Millicent K. Brody (Hamilton's Grill Room) is mesmerized by shops, markets and
restaurants where shelves and menus are filled with delectable offerings. A
food and features writer, she enjoys the challenge of creating a profoundly
interesting story. Never one to leave her Westfield home without her camera,
she has won many awards for photography.
John Dunphy(River Run) is a freelance writer based in Mercer
County. Whether it's veganism, shad or anything else involving food culture in
New Jersey, he wants to learn as much as possible about what people are (or are

Kelly Holechek (Fresh Kids) is a sophomore at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
She is double majoring in English and Graphic Design. In her spare time she

Patricia Klindienst (How I
Learned to Love the A&P) is a New
Jersey native currently living in Guildord, Connecticut. Her first book, The Earth Knows My Name (Beacon Press, 2006), tells the stories of fifteen
ethnic Americans who transmit their cultural heritage through their gardens,
and earned an American Book Award for 2007. She is currently at work on a new
book about Russian Jewish immigrants who became farmers in America.
Jen A. Miller (Heating Things Up) is author of The Jersey Shore, Atlantic City to Cape May:
Great Destinations, a travel guide about the South Jersey Shore that was

Gary C. Pavlis (Eight-Minute Wine Expert) is a professor
and agricultural agent at Rutgers University, where he works with his number
one passion, wine. A leading authority on grape growing in the Garden State,
Dr. Pavlis only travels to places that make wine and, when asked to name his
favorite, responds, “Whatever wine someone else pays for.”
Julie Pryma (Eat,
Joy, Feel) is a designer, photographer and
former art director of the magazine Saveur. Her interest in food and travel led her from Toronto
to Tokyo, London and New York. She now lives with her husband and their two
little boys in South Orange, where they enjoy exploring local eateries, markets
and bike trails.
Jack Rabin (Spring Green) is associate director for
farm programs with the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and
executive editor of New Jersey's Plant
& Pest Advisory Newsletter. Jack holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences
(Entomology) from Rutgers and a M.S. in Vegetable Crops Breeding from the
University of California—Davis.
